Cost of an allotment

Allotment Rents are calculated by area of your plot. 

The following is a worked example to show the typical cost in 2026.

The actual cost may be different if your plot is an unusual size.

Deposit for a new member = £50 (for a typical plot of 125 sq metres)

Annual Rent = £25 (for a typical plot of 125 sq metres)

Annual Membership subscription = £3.50 per adult in the household who works on the plot (includes liability insurance and NAS membership)

So for a couple who start as new members, the total initial cost is typically £82.00 

Then £32.00 every January.

Rent increases are decided by the committee at its October meeting and announced in November for the following January.
